Bumble Bees Day Nursery was established in 1989 and is situated in the village of Kemsing on the picturesque North Downs.

Bumble Bees is a small nursery offering day care for children aged 0 to 5 years.

It is run by qualified staff who have many years of childcare experience between them.

We provide a happy, secure environment where children can learn through play, make new friendships and develop their social and interpersonal skills.

Being a small nursery we are able to give children the personal attention and care they need in what is often their first experience away from home and their family.

We are Ofsted registered and members of the National Day Nursery Association.

  • To provide high quality care and education in a safe and stimulating environment.
  • To support and encourage good manners and thoughtfulness towards others through good example.
  • Through activities, conversation and good practice we will help children to express their own feelings and respect others.
  • To enable children to play independently and in group situations, interacting with both adults and children.

The Early Years Foundation stage

The early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets the standards for learning and development of children aged birth to five years. we ensure each child learns and develops well, keeping them healthy and safe. Using a variety of activities and engagement, children will have the knowledge and skills they need to start school.

Your child will be focusing on 7 areas of learning outlined by the EYFS framework, the three prime areas cover

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development

The specific areas cover

  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design
  • Mathematics
  • Literacy

Using these 7 areas of learning your child’s key person will be able to plan exciting activities using their individual interests as the focus of learning. Children are curious individuals with the ability to see potential all around.

Tapestry

Tapestry is an easy to use and secure online learning journal helping staff and families celebrate their child’s learning and development. Tapestry builds a very special record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their early years and primary education. Using photos, videos, and diary entries, a teacher or early years educator, along with the child’s parents or carers, and the child themselves if they’re ready, ‘weaves’ the story of the child and how they are growing and developing.

The Tapestry platform then works seamlessly to enable these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s unique journey. All information held in the platform is stored securely and can be downloaded and shared as required.

Parents or carers can view their child’s progress, the activities provided for them, and how much fun they’re having, whilst also uploading their own comments and media.
